The relationship between communication skills of physical education teachers and happiness and sports participation motivation of students in physical education class

Purpose: This research was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between the communication skills of physical education teachers and the happiness and motivation of sports participation of students in the physical education class of Javanrood city.
Methods&Materials: In this research, descriptive method of correlation type was used. The statistical population of the research was made up of all physical education teachers and students studying at the first secondary level in Javanrood city in the academic year 1399-1400, from which 30 teachers and 450 students (15 students per teacher) were selected as a statistical sample Research data collection was done by field method and using Barton's (1990) communication skills questionnaires, Gill et al.'s sports participation motivation (1983) and Oxford happiness questionnaire (1989). Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical tests, Spearman's correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used to analyze the research data.
Results: The results of this research showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between physical education teachers' communication skills and students' happiness and motivation for sports participation (p<0.01). There is a positive and significant relationship between students' happiness and sports participation motivation (p<0.01). Also, the results obtained from this research showed that the communication skills of physical education teachers do not predict the happiness and motivation of students' sports participation.
Conclusion: One of the ways to increase the happiness of students and motivate them to participate in sports is improving the interaction of physical education teachers with students and strengthening communication skills in Javanrood city.
