Abstract

Metacognition is one of the main facilitators of learning and performance of athletic skills, and sport activity is one of the low-cost options for improving metacognitive skills. Nevertheless, little research has been carried out to confirm the interaction between metacognition and exercise. Some sports activities may improve metacognitive strategies. In turn, researches have shown that the strategies which affect metacognition were associated with a marked positive effect on psychomotor skills and sports. This analytical report, aimed to present the reasons why sport activity & metacognition interact with each other, using analytical approach, to review the relevant literature of each, and to outline basic guidelines that might serve to direct the relationship between metacognition and sport activity.
