Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of grit on excercise self-efficacy and participatory performance in elite athletes in Gorgan city, Iran. This study was a descriptive-correlation study. Moreover, it was applied research in terms of purpose that was performed as monitoring. The statistical population of this study included all athletes invited to the national team from Gorgan city (i.e., 286 individuals). The statistical sample was equal to the statistical population, so 228 questionnaires were collected. To collect data, several standard questionnaires were used. The results showed that grit have a significant and positive effect on the exercise self-efficacy of athletes through the mediator variable of participatory performance
