Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between media multitasking and sleep quality of Athlete teens with the mediating role of emotional and behavioral problems. The statistical population consisted of all s Athlete teens who participated in professional and semi-professional sports activities. Statistical sample of 384 people (166 girls and 218 boys) was selected by random cluster sampling method. Data were collected through a questionnaire of abilities and problems, amount and type of media consumption and sleep quality. In order to analyze the data, Pearson correlation coefficient and modeling with path analysis approach were used. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between media multitasking and sleep quality through the mediating role of emotional and behavioral problems in Athlete teens. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that by preventing the occurrence of common emotional and behavioral problems among adolescents and providing the necessary training on how to use the media properly by emphasizing the importance of sports activities and efforts to improve their sleep quality, a healthy lifestyle can be promoted among them.
