Abstract
Studies have shown that mindfulness skills have an effect on motor performance in sports and rehabilitation. Many self-report questionnaires have been standardized to measure mindfulness in Iran, however, new and updated tools should be provided according to the needs and conditions of athletes. Accordingly, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the psychometric properties of the second edition of the Persian version of the Mindfulness Scale for Physical Activity. First, the accuracy of the Persian translation of the Mindfulness Scale for Physical Activity was confirmed using the translation and retranslation technique, and then 300 student athletes from Semnan province were randomly selected from individual and team sports and completed the Persian version of the Mindfulness Scale for Physical Activity. Confirmatory factor analysis based on the structural equation model was used to determine the construct validity, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to determine the internal consistency. For temporal reliability of the questions, the intra-group correlation coefficient was completed and used as a pre-test and post-test with an interval of 10 days of the Persian version of the Mindfulness Scale with a sample of (30 people). The results showed that the first-order confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA=0.06, CFI=0.98, and GFI=0.9), second-order (RMSEA=0.062, CFI=0.98, and GFI=0.9), Cronbach's alpha coefficient (α=0.939), and intra-class correlation (0.911) of the Persian version of the Sports Mindfulness Scale supported the three-factor structure and 19 questions, and the second edition of the Persian version of the Mindfulness Scale for Physical Activity has good validity and reliability.
