Abstract
Objective:The present study aimed to develop a model for enhancing students’ motivation and participation in physical education classes in boys’ middle schools based on the lived experiences of physical education teachers.

Methods: This applied research employed a qualitative design using thematic analysis. Fifteen physical education teachers were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews and continued until theoretical saturation was reached. To ensure validity, the findings were reviewed by subject-matter experts. Reliability was assessed through intra-coder agreement, yielding a coefficient of 81%.

Findings: The analysis resulted in 103 initial codes, 15 sub-themes, and 5 main themes: students’ individual characteristics, teacher-related factors, school environmental and structural factors, students’ physical condition and health, and cultural, social, and attitudinal factors.

Conclusion: Students’ participation in physical education is a multidimensional phenomenon influenced by interconnected individual, educational, structural, and social factors. Therefore, promoting participation requires a comprehensive and systematic approach at both school and educational policy levels
