Abstract
Grit is considered an important personality trait (Mosewich et al., 2021). This trait, regardless of cognitive ability, drives the individual to persistent effort and commitment to long-term goals (Brynne & Lauren, 2015). Regarding the importance of this construct, several tools have been developed to assess grit. Despite few studies have been done in the field of sports and no instrument in this area has yet been localized for Iranian athletes. Furthermore, to use any tool, the indigenous and cultural aspects of each country intending to use the questionnaire must be considered (Daouk et al., 2006). Therefore, the aim of the present study is to investigate the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the Grit scale among Iranian athletes. Validating this scale is an important step in the effort to understand and interpret the role of different levels of athletes' grit.
