Abstract

Bipolar disorder is a complicated disease that reduced quality of patient's life. Rhythmic physical activity is one of the ways which its effectiveness, except for these patients is frequently measured. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of aerobic exercise with music on symptoms, social relationships, and personal hygiene in bipolars. A total of 17 patients (9 women and 8 men) with bipolar disorder, of 160 patients that live in nursing home, were selected randomly. patients' symptoms are measured by Frakav test, and for personal hygiene and social relations A questionnaire was used. Participants for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week, and each session lasting 1 hour of physical activity were associated with music. Analysis of variance with repeated measures was used for analyze the data. The results showed improvement in symptoms of bipolar disorder and personal hygiene and social relations that is consistent with existing theories.
