Abstract

The present study was conducted to develop a model of the role of spiritual health in the quality of work life and psychological adjustment of injured professional athletes. The method of this research was applied and descriptive-correlation in terms of purpose and data collection, respectively. The statistical population of the study included all the professional athletes referred to Golestan Medical School in 2019. The mean age of the participants was equal to 25.8 ± 2.8 years old.  Data collection was done using a questionnaire. The questionnaire used in this study had 68 questions measuring three variables including mental health (12 questions), psychological adjustment (29 questions), and quality of working life (27 questions). The results of the study showed that, spiritual health has a significant effect on the psychological adjustment and quality of work life of professional injured athletes. Therefore, it is suggested to help the professional athletes in developing their self-knowledge and abilities, while improving the spiritual health, as well as enhancing the psychological adjustment and quality of work life.
